Two Dragonflies

Etching, aquatint, soft ground.

Image size: 4.5 x 7 inches

I used Virginia native Libellula dragonfly specimens from a biology lab to create the drawings; I then pressed native emergent water plants into soft ground to make the background habitat. These dragonflies are skimmers; they like to hang out near freshwater ponds.
